Rita Orsini was born in France, in a family now spread across different lands, from Italy to Spain, France to the United States, England to Australia.
Travelling has been part of her life from an early age, to reconnect with family or uncover new destinations. After completing her academic studies in France, Rita settled in Australia in 1990.
She has pursued her artistic interests and trained in watercolour and acrylic painting, sculpture and silver jewellery. In 2005 she went back to France for six months and undertook a course with painter Sylvette Labro in Aix-en-Provence to further her experience with ink painting, its smooth fluidity and bright transparency.
She has regular exhibitions in Sydney. In 2010 and 2011 she was invited to take part in the exhibition 'Forum International des Arts' in France alongside artists from France, England and Germany. Her previous solo exhibition in Sydney "Invitation au Voyage" retraced a journey across land and sea and reflected on the riches collected along the way; a journey through time, space and experience.
Rita now lives in Sydney with her husband and two daughters.
